It’s no secret that the car industry has mostly been dominated by men since cars were invented. Women are too often excluded from the automobile and motoring culture. However, this weekend at Women's Motor Fest, these women demonstrated their determination to change that narrative.

Women’s Motor Fest was created as an alternative to traditional car shows. It is a female-focused event where women can share their passion for vehicles, which includes everything from cars to motorcycles to trucks and off-road vehicles. The goal of Women’s Motor Fest is to provide women with a fun environment where they feel comfortable exploring their interests in cars, trucks, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and motorsports.

Thanks to Doni Muzzy and Trish Horstman from Throttle Gals Magazine and Jayme Blasiman from Femcanic Garage, the event was a success. Women from all over the Metro Detroit area gathered together at Baker's of Milford for a much needed event in the automotive sphere.

Michigan-based singer-songwriter Jill Jack was in attendance with a live performance of her new song written for the film called, “Fast Cars Ain’t Just for Boys Anymore.” The song brought all of the women together and was the perfect addition to the event.

We’re excited to share this story in the film as a tribute to a sometimes overlooked community in the automotive industry. There are many women with just as much, if not more, of an interest in fast cars and the motoring culture.
