Steve Pasteiner Sr. and his sons are the proud founders and owners of Pasteiner's Auto Zone Hobbies, an automotive automobilia store on Woodward Avenue in Birmingham, Michigan, established in 1988.

As a young teenager in Hungary, Steve Pasteiner Sr. was always fascinated with the American automobile, with a natural talent and passion for sketching and would often sketch Buicks that were driven by a US Embassy chauffeur.

He immigrated to America as a young teenager at a time when Russia and Hungary were at odds.

He’s a graduate of the Art Center College of Design and spent 22 years with General Motors Design, where he became the Assistant Chief Designer for Buick and Chevrolet. Over the years his designs have become sought after by collectors as pieces of art.

Now 81, Pasteiner is still active and works everyday. His auto shop, Advanced Automotive Technologies is where you’ll find him working on some of the most unique and inventive projects out of his own love and passion for auto design.

The Pasteiner boys, Steve Pasteiner Jr. and Eric Pasteiner are lucky to be able to work alongside their father everyday at their automotive design and repair shop, as well as the Pasteiner’s Auto Zone Hobbies where every Saturday morning from 8am-10am, they host “Parking at Pasteiner's,” a weekly gathering of some of the area's coolest cars and people. Pasteiner Sr.’s deep appreciation and passion for cars is very clear, stating, “I will never retire.” And with the designs and art he creates, we don’t think anyone wants him to.
